So many times people find pleasure in the good times, but never learn to experience joy in the mud. A few nights ago, two of my kids played in this massive dirt pile in my driveway, we are building above ground gardens. Hauling the dirt is time consuming and causes sore muscles. My children, however, found joy in the dirt and mud. They found pleasure in the hard work. Why? They have child like faith. Maybe that is one of the meanings behind Christ's encouraging words.
