disengage

Sometimes we must disengage from the busyness of life and find peace in the ordinary and still times.  The stillness can be frightening, however, when we are  not used to it.  We fall into the trap of going and going and going, that we are uncomfortable with just being still and disengaging from static. Sometimes the beauty is truly in just being still for a few minutes and listening too the sounds of nothing, or nature, or just breathing.  Sometimes it is in that silence that peace is loud and overwhelming.  I have found myself running and going so much that I forgot to disengage and be still and just be for a while.  When I finally disengaged and stood still for a bit, I found I could hear and listen so much better than  before.  Still waters after the storm provide comfort.  Today, amidst the busyness of life, I will stop and disengage long enough to hear and just be a bit.  Much love and many blessings.  Remember God loves and likes you.
